The School
Rose Hill Westonbirt School is a preparatory day school for boys and girls (age 3 – 13). It shares grounds with its sister school, Westonbirt School.
The school is situated in an exceptionally beautiful setting – in over 200 acres of private parkland and gardens in the heart of the Cotswolds (within easy access of the M4 and M5). Against this wonderful backdrop there are excellent modern facilities, such as a £3m sports centre with an indoor swimming pool and sports hall. Other sports facilities include a nine-hole golf course and numerous pitches, courts and tracks. Children can enjoy specialist coaching in rugby, cricket, hockey, netball and rounders. Rose Hill Westonbirt offers outstanding opportunities, giving pupils every advantage in their educational and personal development. As well as academic success, strong emphasis is placed on sport, music, drama and art. There is also a wide range of exciting opportunities outside the classroom with clubs and afterschool programmes.
School Life
Rose Hill Westonbirt offers a warm and inclusive school community with a breadth and depth of curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Art, Music, French and Sport are delivered by extremely talented and passionate specialist teachers. The school hosts a large and increasingly popular Cross Country Running Event in February for schools across the South West and regularly wins swimming galas against fierce competition. Rose Hill Westonbirt’s annual participation in the Cheltenham Festival is always very successful for poetry, singing and recorders.
A wide range of academic abilities leads to an inclusive and diverse learning community. Academic success is evident from the outstanding Common Entrance results and the range of scholarships offered for Independent, grammar and secondary schools.
The relatively small size of the school means that there are small class sizes with an excellent ratio of staff to pupils and the rapport between staff and pupils is very good. The Headmaster, Neil Shaw, knows every child well. There is a sense of community, warmth and fun which makes Rose Hill Westonbirt School extremely special.
