The Cavendish School is a small friendly IAPS school for girls age 3 to 11. The school is situated near Regent’s Park but still in the heart of Camden Town with its excellent public transport links. The Cavendish has a Christian ethos that welcomes pupils of all faiths.
Strong yet informal links between home and school are maintained and we pride ourselves on the high level of our pastoral care and attention to each child’s individual needs.
The school is non-selective at entry. We provide manageable class sizes and high teacher-pupils ratios so that the foundations of a good education and effective study habits are laid from the beginning. Through a broad and balanced curriculum we provide personalised learning and much specialised teaching which allows our pupils to flourish and many gain entry and scholarships to top senior schools at 11+.
There is an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities, after school care services and flexible arrangements for nursery age pupils.
Our strength in Music and Art are reflected in the award of an Artsmark Gold in 2006 by the Arts Council of England. Class Music is taught by a specialist and instruction is available in a wide variety of instruments. Physical Education is another important feature of life in school and we also compete in a variety of areas with local schools.
The school is housed in well maintained Victorian buildings and a modern wing which houses purpose built ICT facilities.
Nutritious and delicious hot and cold school lunches are prepared on the premises for all children and staff.
The school maintains close links with the local community in a variety of ways both charitable and educational.
